Is it possible to have a way of notifying users if they have received a new private message?
Also I've noticed that when I get a new message from someone their position on my private message side panel stays the same. For example if I receive a message on facebook that person instantly goes to the top position and everyone else is below them. I've attached a screenshot of what this could look like. Thoughts?
Hi there, you're right. That behaviour should be changed so that the most updated conversation is sorted to the top.

In terms of notifications, that should already happen if it's enabled. Go to the Settings and search up notifications to enable it.
Note that users don't receive notifications immediately -- that would generate too much email and cause your notifications to trigger spam alerts on the receiving user's end (eg. Gmail will ban your emails). As a result, notifications are queued to be sent every 2-4 hours and are collected together in a batch (ie. single email).
