Google Has Added Bypass Charging to Pixel Phones. What So Far? With its December 2024 Pixel Feature Drop (Android 15 QPR1), Google quietly added a new battery‑health booster: bypass charging. Once you enable the “Limit to 80%” option under Settings → Battery → Charging optimization, your Pixel stops trickle‑charging the battery at 80% and instead draws direct power from the charger.
